Going On Now @ Lakeside.

May and June have been busy ministry months for our students and children. It all began with Beach Camp at Laguna Beach for middle and high school over Memorial Day Weekend. Then our middle school choir (Illuminate) served in Nashville, TN. Then, we had a great week of VBS. Finally, our high school ensemble (Sound+Light) served in Golden Isles, GA. We praise God for His faithfulness and all that He has done through us.

Growth & Discipleship

Sunday School & Discipleship

Classes at Lakeside provide a place for people to begin to connect, care, and make disciples as they move toward maturity in Christ. They are available for all ages (preschool through senior adults) and meet Sunday mornings. Adult groups have six to thirty people in similar places in life and always welcome guests and new members. For a detailed list of classes, times and teachers, please visit our website or the Welcome Center in the Atrium.

The discipleship ministries at Lakeside are designed to help you follow Jesus with passionate devotion, become more like him, and vitally engage in the mission He has entrusted to us—making more disciples.  Bible studies for adults and D-groups meet at a variety of times during the week, including Wednesday nights at 6:00.

If you are single, we have a place for you. Our adult singles meet for Bible study in room E-206 on Sunday morning at 10:45. For more information, please contact the church office.

Membership

Membership Info

Any person who has personally received Christ as their Savior and Lord, who has received baptism by immersion as a testimony of their salvation (or wishes to be baptized) and who desires to be committed to Lakeside Baptist Church as a local body of believers may begin the membership process.

Feel free to come forward at the end of a service during the invitation time and speak with one of our pastoral staff members or contact us to make an appointment to discuss membership at Pastor@lakesidebaptist.com or 313-2922.

All new members are required to complete the Lakeside Membership Class, which is offered monthly. Those who have completed their membership process will be received into full membership at Lakeside’s regular quarterly business sessions. Our staff is always available to talk with you not only about church membership but about any concerns and questions you may have.

What We Believe

Statement of beliefs

Lakeside is a church that has several core convictions. These include our belief that:

*   The Bible is the inerrant Word of God.
*   Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross for the sins of every person.
*   Jesus physically rose from the dead three days after His crucifixion.
*   Personal faith in Jesus Christ alone is the only way of salvation (forgiveness of sin and eternal life).
*   We have the blessed hope of Jesus’ literal return and eternity with Him.

We are probably best described as a theologically conservative, Bible-believing, gospel-preaching, Christ exalting fellowship.

Our church’s official doctrinal statement may be found at this link ……http://www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfm2000.asp

Missions

Missions and Local Ministry

Global missions and local ministry are at the core of our identity. As a church, Lakeside understands the importance of financially supporting missionaries and impactful missions efforts around the world. However, financial support is not enough.

It is essential to serve in our community. Our church family is actively involved in serving with the UAB medical town homes, Oak Mountain Missions, Spain Park High School, Oak Mountain Schools, and several mobility-challenged elderly members of the community. We also offer seasonal opportunities to help others in need by filling stockings around Christmas and filling migrant bags in the spring, both spearheaded by our WMU.

Lakeside offers semi-annual, week-long trips to serve in Guatemala, annual trips to serve in Brazil, and other opportunities throughout the year to serve in both state-side and international missions.

Worship & Teaching

Music and Worship

The purpose of the music and worship ministry is to worship God through His gift of music. Choirs are in place for children through senior adults with a gambit of music from southern gospel to contemporary. There are other ways to get involved including instrumental groups, drama and technical support.
